Welcome

Welcome To St. George's Brass Band

St George’s Brass Band is a traditional brass ensemble of around thirty musicians, playing cornets, trombones, horns, baritones, euphoniums, basses and flugelhorns.

One of the longest-existing brass bands in Ireland, St. George's was founded in 1936 in St George’s Parish in North Dublin, Ireland.

The band rehearses every Monday evening in St George and St. Thomas Church on Cathal Brugha Street.

The band plays a very wide repertoire of music and has a proud history of entertaining the public at garden fetes, summer events and in Dublin's parks and bandstands. Regular venues have included the Botanical Gardens, St Stephen’s Green, Bray Promenade and  Farmleigh House.

We play concerts to suit any occasion, such as parties, local and national celebrations and fund raising events.

The band enjoyed our first concert of the year at the SS Peter and Paul Church in Balbriggan, on Friday 8th March.

The concert was in honour the band's former chairman and longtime musician Joe Sheils, who sadly died in 2022.
